Summer beer is here!

Bramling Cross now available! Bramling is a British style ordinary bitter with 4.5% ABV. It features a nice malt base of Maris Otter with layers of Bramling Cross hops.  This UK hop has prairie roots as it is the result of the male hop Kent Goldings being crossed with a wild Manitoba female.   Currently only sold in the brewery, and AB. [on tap at Winston's]

Saskatchewan Wheat Ale –Brewed as a private label for the Shiny Penny Brewery, a brewpub opening soon in Saskatoon. This Belgian style witbeer (think Hoegaarden) is spiced with orange peel and coriander. Hazy by design, make sure to swirl the yeast in the bottom of the bottle for full effect before pouring into a glass to enjoy. Available for sale at the brewery only. Blackfriars Ale — Named after the theatre located in London which featured the Bard’s plays, Blackfriars is our take on what a brewer might have done in London in the 17th Century.  It has several layers of variously toasted malts, British hops to balance, and 7.5% ABV.  Available only at the brewery and at the Shakespeare Tent [now on tap at Winston's]

Loki Wins GOLD!

Loki won Gold for Canadian Ales at the 2010 Calgary Beer Festival. Loki is on tap at  Winston’s in Saskatoon, the Fainting Goat, Beer Brothers, and Lazy Owl in Regina. Bottles are sold in AB, BC, and at the brewery in Saskatoon.

New Summer Hours!

The retail store is now open Thursday and Friday evening until 8:00, and Saturdays 10:00am until 6:00pm.

Towel Day Beer

May 25th is pan galactic Towel Day. The local Woman’s crisis centre needs towels and cash.  Bring in a bath towel and get a free 6pk of a very limited production beer. Only 30 cases made. Or purchase a 6pk, and we will donate $10 to the Saskatoon Woman’s Crisis centre.

“Wow! This is one fine brew. A superbly balanced high-octane slow-sipping IPA.

The beer pours amber with a frothy tan head that stay with beer.

The aroma sizzles with resinous hoppy pine needles and orange peel. There’s also plenty of caramel/toffee coming through in the mix.

The first sip is velvety smooth with a dark caramel foundation that has a brief burst of butterscotch sweetness which switches to a hoppy hit of florals and orange peel that slides toward the back of the mouth with a puckery, lip-smacking bitterness that lingers lusciously on the tongue.

It’s hard not to gush, but this is simply an awesome beer.”
