In Germany in the year 1516, the Reinheitsgebot was passed; a law that stated beer should only be made by three ingredients: water, malt, and hops. This German Purity Law remained until the 1800's when Louis Pasteur discovered the role of yeast in fermentation. We brew all our beers with this purity law in mind, believing that great beer should be made naturally, without the use of any chemicals or additives.
The human body is made up of mostly water. So is our beer. Coincidence? I don't think so.
We source the highest quality malted grains from Canada, Germany and the United States. High quality grains means you get a full flavoured beer that satisfies the palate with every sip.
Hops are amazing! The second cousin of the marijuana plant, hops are a natural preservative that allow beer to be to be transported over long distances without the use of chemical preservatives. Beyond that, hops add flavours, aroma, and bitterness that gives each brew its unique character.
Yeast is everywhere! It's in you, on you, and around you. Yeast causes fermentation, which in turn creates alcohol. We pick specific strains of yeast that best compliment the style of beer we are brewing.
