Our first release, and still our best selling beer! This is a Pilsner that has loads of subtle flavours. First there is a good shot of Munich malt to build more malt profile than a light Pilsner, then a special dehusked roasted malt (Carafa III) gives a dark colour with just a hint of coffee floating in the background. Czech Mate is a fresh spin on the classic Pilsner beer. Made with very soft water which allows the hop profile to be intensified without excessive bitterness. Our Czech Mate has a solid all-malt background which balances out the hops. The initial impression will seem malt accentuated, but contemplate the finish and the hop profile will reveal itself. The Bête Noire gets its dark profile from a blend of chocolate malt & roasted barley. The chocolate malt gives notes of coffee or chocolate, and the blend provides two flavour threads for a complex finish. The 606 Pale Ale features a huge malt profile from Maris Otter malt , but massive amounts of Cascade & Ahtanum hops come through in the finish. The aim is for a balance between malt and hops with depth on both sides. Alberta product # 725331 |
